Canada Strengthens Defence and Security Ties With Mexico

The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC) and the Secretariat of National Defence of Mexico (SEDENA) signed a contract to provide maintenance, repair and overhaul services by Cascade Aerospace of Abbotsford, British Columbia to the Mexican Air Force. This contract will sustain 100 high value-added jobs in Canada in the defence and aerospace field.

The contract was signed under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CCC and SEDENA, which took effect on October 25, 2013. The MOU is intended to facilitate procurement by the Government of Mexico for defence equipment and services from Canada suppliers through a government-to-government mechanism, with CCC acting as the prime contractor.
