CCC's History in Aerospace, Defence and Security

When CCC was created in 1946, the Corporation’s purpose was to assist the Government of Canada in the reconstruction of Europe after World War II. From 1947 to 1951, CCC was the domestic procurement agency for the Department of National Defence. CCC’s role as Canada’s lead government agency for international defence contracting was solidified in 1956, with the establishment of the Defence Production Sharing Agreement (DPSA) with U.S. DoD.
