Request for Proposal

Project: CCC No. 101106
The Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), in conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), intends to engage, for the benefit of Haiti, a firm (Proponent) to supply and install twelve (12) portable classrooms and one (1) toilet block at the Haiti National Police facilities in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, with an option to purchase additional classrooms and toilet blocks (Project). Delivery, site preparation and installation of all equipment and materiel must be completed no later than 31 March 2011.

The funding is provided by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) which is responsible for the administration of the Global Peace and Security Fund, pursuant to which assistance, often in the form of in-kind contributions of goods, services, and equipment, is to be delivered to foreign recipients to enable those recipients to respond to civilian protection, conflict prevention and stabilization initiatives in fragile and failed states.

Canada's commitment to Security Sector Reform (SSR) in Haiti includes strengthening the professionalism, expertise and managerial capacities of the Haitian National Police (HNP) to perform their duties effectively in an adequate environment. The aim of this Project, in particular, is to provide the Haitian National Police (HNP) with an increased capacity to train both new recruits and existing officers in Haiti.
