Export Win for Advanced Manufacturing in Saskatoon

January 9, 2015

The Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State (Foreign Affairs and Consular), today congratulated SED Systems on its $11.7million contract to supply General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada (GDLS-C) with power control modules.

SED Systems will manufacture more than 4,600 high-quality module units over five years in Saskatoon. SED Systems is one of the more than 500 local Canadian firms, including small and medium sized enterprises that will benefit from the GDLS-C contract for exports to Saudi Arabia announced in February 2014—the largest advanced manufacturing export win in Canadian history.

GDLS-C’s export win was facilitated by the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the Government of Canada’s international government-to-government contracting organization. Under Canada’s Global Markets Action Plan, the government is committed to providing support and tools for export success.
