Ottawa, CANADA – CCC is pleased to announce the extension of its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ecuador’s Public-Private Partnership (P3) agency, the Secretaría de Inversiones Público Privadas (SIPP), for a period of 5 years. The MOU provides opportunities for the Government of Ecuador to procure Canadian goods and services through CCC’s government-to-government (G2G) contracting approach. It was first signed in 2022, enabling CCC to sign a G2G contract with SIPP for services from Dentons Canada. Through CCC’s contract, Dentons Canada is providing pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, as well as transaction structuring for Ecuador’s Loja-Catamayo Road Corridor project.
The extension to the MOU was formally signed by Mgs. Pablo José Cevallos Palomeque, Secretary of Ecuador’s Secretariat of Public-Private Investments, and Kim Douglas, Vice President of CCC’s Business Development and Marketing. It builds on CCC’s ongoing mission of strengthening bilateral trade between Canada and Ecuador by bringing qualified Canadian businesses to Ecuadoran government buyers.
As part of extended MOU, CCC will provide Canadian expertise to conduct pre-feasibility, feasibility and transactional structuring phases for the South Viaduct of Guayaquil project. This landmark project features a state-of-the-art bridge and road network designed to alleviate congestion and reduce travel time for commuters of the city of Guayaquil and the surrounding region. Stretching across critical transit corridors, once built the viaduct will not only enhance accessibility within Guayaquil but also will strengthen its role as a vital economic hub.
CCC operates at the crossroads of commerce and international relations to forge commercial contracts between Canadian businesses and foreign governments, through G2G contracts. Every G2G contract signed by CCC has the legal effect of being signed in the name of the Government of Canada and comes with an assurance of contract performance.
Bilateral trade between Canada and Ecuador is accelerating, measuring $1.3 billion in 2023 – a 36% increase from 2021. To learn about how you can participate in the growing trade relationship between Canada and Ecuador, contact CCC.
