An NCAGE (NATO Commercial and Government Entity) code is a unique identifier assigned to companies that do business with NATO member governments. This page provides the step-by-step instructions for Canadian companies to get their NCAGE code.
You need an NCAGE code if:
- You are registering in SAM.gov to apply for U.S. federal contracts
- Your company or organization is outside the United States and wants to do business with the U.S. government or NATO
- You need to be recognized as a valid entity for military, defence, or government-related transactions.
How Canadian companies get an NCAGE code
- Check to see if an NCAGE code is already assigned to your company using the NATO Support and Procurement Agency’s (NSPA) NCAGE Code Request Tool.
- If the search result does report your company with an existing NCAGE, you’ll need to complete the Request for Assignment of NCAGE form and email request to CCC at [email protected].
- CCC will review the request and forward it to DND for NCAGE assignment.
- When the NCAGE code is assigned, an email will be sent to the company point of contact in the NCAGE Request. Follow the instructions provided in the email, and make sure to validate your new NCAGE.
How to validate your NCAGE code
- Validate your new NCAGE using the NSPA NCAGE code Request Tool again.
- Enter your NCAGE code and click Enter to search.
- At the bottom of the screen, a Results box will display. Click on the line for your company.
Validate your CAGE search and inquiry
- Once the NCAGE is received, the NCAGE code is displayed in U.S. DoDs CAGE Search and Inquiry (CSI). This was formerly the Business Identification Number Cross Reference System (BINCS).
- The company’s Legal Business Name and Physical Address must be absolutely identical in both the NSPA and U.S. DoD’s CSI systems.
- Go to U.S. DoD’s CAGE Search and Inquiry to confirm your NCAGE code information.
