Welcome!
We can’t wait to learn more about your Canadian company and the products or services you offer to governments and militaries outside of Canada.
Getting started with CCC is easier than you might think. Here’s what you can expect as we work together to set you up for success.
First, here are some criteria we look for:
You have production facilities in Canada
You sell products and services that governments and militaries buy
You have more than two years of sales
You have a track record of selling abroad or have plans to do so
Take the first step
Nothing beats a conversation with a real person to see if CCC might work for you and if your company is a good fit for CCC. Now’s the time to schedule a call with one of our Export Advisors.
We would like to get to know you and your company, understand the kind of solutions you offer, and who you are targeting for sales internationally.
We’ll let you know if we think we can help you win more contracts or if another export support program might suit you better.
Invitation to onboard with CCC
If your business is a good fit, we’ll invite you to complete a Corporate Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ). This questionnaire helps us learn more about your company and determine whether it aligns with our government to government (G2G) contracting services.
Here's what to expect
Corporate Due Diligence Form Submission
Fill out the form and send it back to your Export Advisor. Here’s a sample of the Corporate Due Diligence Questionnaire, so you know what to expect.
Due diligence review
We’ll review the information you provide and conduct open-source research on your company and its officers as part of our integrity and compliance assessment.
Follow-up questions (if needed)
In some cases, a member of our team may contact you to ask for additional information.
CCC supplier approval
Once our review is complete, we’ll let you know whether your company has been approved to be a future CCC supplier.
You’re an approved CCC supplier. Now what?
Here are the benefits you get immediately.
Inclusion in Canadian Capability Guides
Put your company in front of government decision makers we are talking to.
We’ll add your company to our Canadian Capability Guides we use to promote all our approved suppliers to foreign government buyers.
Marketing Letter of Introduction
Want to introduce CCC and a G2G contracting option to your buyer?
You can request an introductory letter from CCC for your targeted government buyer. This letter explains CCC’s government to government contracting approach and initiates the discussion on this alternative procurement pathway.
Let’s look for your first G2G opportunity
Together we start the work of identifying your first G2G opportunity.
If you are focused on selling to the U.S. Department of War
Register to do business with the U.S. Department of War
If you’re looking to do business with the U.S. Department of War, then you’ll need to get registered to do so.
Check out our handy step-by-step guidance in our Knowledge Base.
Make SAM.gov your opportunity research homebase
Search SAM.gov to find a U.S. DoW solicitation (Request for Quote, Request for Proposal) that you want to bid on.
If you are focused on selling internationally
Let’s schedule a pipeline review call.
We’ll schedule a working session to go through your pipeline of leads and opportunities to identify those that may be suitable for G2G contracting.
If you don’t have any suitable leads or opportunities, we’ll connect you with the Trade Commissioner or Canadian Defence Attaché in the Canadian embassy in a market you are focused on. They can help make introductions to government buyers that may be interested in your solution.
If you have a U.S. DoW opportunity identified…
If the opportunity is with the U.S. Department of War — let’s introduce your team to your U.S. DoW contract specialist.
Your Export Advisor will introduce you to the person who will work with you and the U.S. DoW Contracting Officer. They will know that you plan on bidding on the U.S. DoW solicitation and will need a copy of the proposal you are sending to U.S. DoW, in case you are selected as the winning bidder.
If you have an international opportunity identified…
If the opportunity is in another international market… let’s get working on approving support for this particular opportunity.
Once you have a potential sales opportunity that could become a G2G contract, we’ll invite you to complete a Transactional Due Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ). This is where we assess your company’s strength to deliver the specific project you are pursuing.
Here’s what to expect
Transactional Due Diligence Form Submission
Technical evaluation
We’ll review to confirm you have:
- sufficient technical expertise to meet the requirements of the contract
- capacity to undertake the contract (which may involve site visits), and
- whether there is an alternate source of supply for the product or service you are selling.
Managerial evaluation
We’ll review to confirm you have:
- a management team capable of carrying on your business over the life of the contract
- a project team capable of managing the contract, and
- your team has experience managing successful export contracts in markets with risk profiles similar to that of the proposed contract.
Financial evaluation
We’ll review to understand:
- the risk of insolvency during the contract period,
- whether you have adequate capacity to meet the contract’s cash-flow demands, and
- whether you have the ability to handle scope changes and cost overruns commensurate with the risk of the project.
Project evaluation
We’ll review the nature of the project to assess if it:
- aligns with government policies and priorities,
- poses any risk from a human rights perspective, and
- will deliver benefits to Canada.
Validating foreign government buyer interest in G2G
We’ll work with you to engage your prospective foreign government buyer and to validate the sales opportunity:
- Is there a budget or ability to finance the purchase?
- Is the government buyer interested in doing the procurement on a government to government basis?
- Is the target country in good standing with Canada?
G2G opportunity pursuit support approval
Your CCC account manager will bring your proposed opportunity forward for formal G2G support approval at CCC’s Risk and Opportunities Committee. Our collaboration on the approved opportunity pursuit will be formalized through a Pursuit Agreement.
