Beginning in January 2024, selected, highly experienced Dutch military pilots and engineers will undertake the rigorous 12-month program which includes over 500 hours of lectures and exam and 120 flight hours of instruction and exercises. Training focuses on experimental flight test techniques on 15 aircraft types. RNLAF officers will join colleagues from around the world in learning how to test new aircraft, systems and sensors to determine their suitability for their intended mission. RNLAF officers will also have the opportunity to earn a Master’s Degree in Flight Test Engineering whilst at ITPS.

Based in London, Ontario, ITPS is the world’s biggest independent school of experimental flight testing and governments around the world send their best select pilots and engineers to ITPS. In addition to the Royal Netherlands Air Force, ITPS provides training to the Royal Canadian Air Force, German Armed Forces, Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy, Republic of Korea Air Force and 25 air arms to date. ITPS is one of only eight fully recognised test pilot schools in the world and is covered under the EduCanada brand, the official Government of Canada source for studying in Canada. ITPS is an Ontario Ministry of Education Designated Learning Institution. ITPS is committed to sustainable aviation and has been a carbon neutral operator since 2022.
